The orchidometer was introduced in 1966 by Swiss pediatric endocrinologist A. Pradr. It consists of a string of twelve numbered wooden or plastic beads of increasing size from about 1 to 25 milliliter. Doctors sometimes informally refer to them as "Prader's balls", "the medical worry beads", or the "endocrine rosary".

The beads are compared with the testicles of the patient, and the volume is read off the bead which matches most closely in size. Prepubertal sizes are 1–3 ml, pubertal sizes are considered 4 ml and up and adult sizes are 12–25 ml.

The "Harpenden" Anthropometer is a counter recording instrument which can be effortlessly operated from the tips of its branches. Its user can, therefore, by means of his free finger-tips actually feel his way to his desired measuring points in order to obtain a degree of accuracy not possible with conventional anthropometers.

Specification

This instrument gives a direct and accurate reading, to the nearest millimetre, over a range of 50 mm to 570 mm. It is constructed mainly of light alloy anodised to its natural colour. Its sliding member operates via miniature ball-bearing rollers in order to ensure a movement which is free yet without cross-play.

Each instrument is supplied in a well made carrying case, complete with straight and recurved branches, a spare counter and beam extensions for the measuring of heights of up to two metres (When using these a constant should be added to the counter reading).

 The Mollison craniophor is especially suitable for adjusting the cranium in the ear-eye plane (Frankfurt horizontal).

This instrument consists of vertical metal tubes. Each bears, at its upper end, a transverse bar that can be pushed in a horizontal direction and rotated only in the axis of the vertical column. The ends of these bars are three-cornered, and the bars intended for the outer auditory canals have edges pointing upwards, whereas the edge of the third bar, which is intended to fix the lower rim of the orbit, points downwards. The instrument is collapsible as an aid to transportation.

The Spreading Caliper provides accurate measurement of the distance between two points, where one or both points may not be on a flat surface. This Spreading Caliper can also be used for the measurement of Anterior-Posterior chest depth.

 

The Spreading Calipers are manufactured from chrome plated steel. Hinged at the base, the two curved branches with pointed ends are connected by a pivotal ruler, which is engraved in millimeter intervals from 0 to 600 mm and 0-300mm both options available. The branches can be immobilized in any position by a screw located on the slider which guides the ruler. The ruler gives the precise distance between the two points over which the measurement has been taken.

Spreading Caliper with rounded ends (#106/108) provides accurate measurement of short distances between two points. The ends of the spreading branches are rounded for the patient's comfort, as opposed to the Spreading Caliper with pointed ends (#107/109),  where one or both points may not be on a flat surface.  The Caliper is manufactured from chrome plated steel and most commonly used for craniometry and cephalometry. Hinged at the base, the two curved branches with rounded ends are connected by a pivotal ruler (millimeter scale intervals). The branches can be immobilized in any position by a screw located on the slider which guides the ruler

The GPM Large Spreading Caliper with pointed ends provides accurate measurement of the distance between two points, where one or both points may not be on a flat surface. This Large Spreading Caliper can also be used for the measurement of Anterior-Posterior chest depth.

The ends of the spreading branches are pointed and generally not comfortable for the patients, as opposed to the GPM Large Spreading Caliper model 108, which has rounded ends.

The GPM Large Spreading Caliper with rounded ends is manufactured from chrome plated steel. Hinged at the base, the two curved branches with pointed ends are connected by a pivotal ruler, which is engraved in millimeter intervals from 0 to 60 cm. The branches can be immobilized in any position by a screw located on the slider which guides the ruler. The ruler gives the precise distance between the two points over which the measurement has been taken.

The Martin type Sliding Caliper consists of a thick, metal vertical bar with a recording strip graduated in millimeters from 0 to 20 cm for length measurements, and from 0 to 5 cm for depth measurements

One of the two horizontal branches is fixed to the vertical bar, and the other slides smoothly up and down the vertical bar to ensure a precise measurement of length and depth.

The Martin type Sliding Caliper can be supplied alone or as part of a package in the Large Instrument Kit or Small Instrument Kit.

The "Harpenden" Stadiometer is a counter recording instrument, with an effortless counter balanced movement. It will give an accurate and direct reading of a subject's height, to the nearest millimetre over a range of 600 mm to 2100 mm.

The Stadiometer is fitted with a high speed Veeder-Root counter.
