The orchidometer was introduced in 1966 by Swiss pediatric endocrinologist A. Pradr. It consists of a string of twelve numbered wooden or plastic beads of increasing size from about 1 to 25 milliliter. Doctors sometimes informally refer to them as "Prader's balls", "the medical worry beads", or the "endocrine rosary".

The beads are compared with the testicles of the patient, and the volume is read off the bead which matches most closely in size. Prepubertal sizes are 1–3 ml, pubertal sizes are considered 4 ml and up and adult sizes are 12–25 ml.

The "Harpenden" Anthropometer is a counter recording instrument which can be effortlessly operated from the tips of its branches. Its user can, therefore, by means of his free finger-tips actually feel his way to his desired measuring points in order to obtain a degree of accuracy not possible with conventional anthropometers.

This instrument gives a direct and accurate reading, to the nearest millimetre, over a range of 50 mm to 570 mm. It is constructed mainly of light alloy anodised to its natural colour. Its sliding member operates via miniature ball-bearing rollers in order to ensure a movement which is free yet without cross-play.

Each instrument is supplied in a well made carrying case, complete with straight and recurved branches, a spare counter and beam extensions for the measuring of heights of up to two metres (When using these a constant should be added to the counter reading).

knee height caliper is used to measure measure the height of bedridden patients, elderly persons, and persons in wheelchairs, by means of measuring the height of the leg.  A knee height caliper is usually rigid metal and about 80cm long (just under 2.5 ft).  It may sometimes be referred to as a rigid segmometer.

The "Harpenden" Stadiometer is a counter recording instrument, with an effortless counter balanced movement. It will give an accurate and direct reading of a subject's height, to the nearest millimetre over a range of 600 mm to 2100 mm.

The Stadiometer is fitted with a high speed Veeder-Root counter.

Spreading Caliper with rounded ends (#106/108) provides accurate measurement of short distances between two points. The ends of the spreading branches are rounded for the patient's comfort, as opposed to the Spreading Caliper with pointed ends (#107/109),  where one or both points may not be on a flat surface.  The Caliper is manufactured from chrome plated steel and most commonly used for craniometry and cephalometry. Hinged at the base, the two curved branches with rounded ends are connected by a pivotal ruler (millimeter scale intervals). The branches can be immobilized in any position by a screw located on the slider which guides the ruler
